They were introduced in the Diablo II expansion, Lord of Destruction. I could understand maybe screwing up the weapon classes, but the "Glory" runeword (3-socketed body armor) isn't working, either. 5*Clvl)% Deadly Strike (Based on Character Level) +1 To Light Radius. This helm Runeword is essential for characters just starting Diablo 2: Resurrected. Nadir can be applied to Helms and is composed of 2 Runes.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Runewords are recipes you can make by placing specific runes into item sockets in a particular order. Some are incredibly powerful for their Rune cost, but are not the ideal gear option for their slot. I have RWM installed and it's properly working (Insight is functional) and yet when I put runes into pieces of equipment, they aren't becoming RWs, just becoming "Gemmed _". 
Inserting a shorter runeword into a gear item with a larger number of sockets doesn't create a Runeword. Lore can be applied to Helms and is composed of 2 Runes. Runewords in Diablo 2 are a way of combining runes in socketed armor or weapons in the correct order. These Runewords can be used until the very late game, where they are replaced by S Tier options.
